Taboo 3, Barbara has two sons?
Taboo 3 begins with the departure of Paul from the home he shares with his mother. We then learn that he has a younger brother Jimmy. Where Jimmy was for the first 2 movies is never really addressed, except that he feels that his mother is closer to Paul than to him, and he seems to resent it.
Taboo 3 sees Barbara dealing with some uncomfortable repercussions from her relationship with Paul. He has abruptly ended things, needing his space, and she is beset with guilt. Meanwhile her younger son Jimmy is looking to fill his brother’s role, but she denies herself her incestuous desires because things didn’t go as planned with Paul.
Jimmy and his best friend are managing a rock band. They have more sex than the band members as groupies through themselves at them. The film is filled with decent music and 80s fashion, not what you would expect from a skin flick. Jimmy’s partner fucks anything, including his mom and Jimmy’s girlfriend. But it’s not in a betrayal way, he just doesn’t seem to attach any sort of possessive emotion to sex.
It’s actually Jimmy’s friend’s mom who helps Barbara get over her reluctance to be with Jimmy. She suspected that Paul had something going on with his mother, and wanted to know the details. So shares her son with Barbara in an attempt to get her to open up, and stop denying herself her true desires. Two mom son relations for the price of one, this film is long but worth it.
The explicit depiction of taboo themes, as seen in Taboo 3, is now widely regarded as unacceptable, both legally and morally. While the Taboo series remains a significant part of adult film history, its themes and content are unlikely to be replicated in contemporary cinema, underscoring the changing boundaries of artistic expression and societal values.
